Italian Stallion Challenge (5K + 10 Mile = 13.1 Miles)

Take the Italian Stallion Challenge and earn 3 finisher medals! On race day, put those muscles to work in this epic 13.1 mile challenge by completing both the 5K and the 10 Mile. If you finish both races within the pacing requirements, you will be awarded the coveted Italian Stallion Challenge finisher medal in addition to your 5K and 10 Mile finisher medals. That’s right, triple your bling and walk away a champion.


To qualify for the Italian Stallion Challenge You Must:

  • Register for the Italian Stallion Challenge. Registering for the 5K and 10 Mile individually will not make you eligible to receive the Italian Stallion Challenge finisher medal.
  • First complete the 5K (starting at 7:15am) and then complete the 10 Mile (starting at 8:00am).
  • Maintain at least a 13 minute per mile pace in the 5K to ensure you are lined up in time for the 10 Mile start.

Italian Stallion Challenge Participants Receive:

  • One Standard Rocky Run Shirt
  • One Rocky Run Bib Number
  • 10 Mile Finisher Medal
  • 5K Finisher Medal
  • Italian Stallion Challenge Finisher Medal

Packet Pick-Up

A photo ID and bib number are needed to pick up your race packet. Bib number will be posted here the week of the race.


There are 3 options for picking up your race packet:

  1. Pick up your race packet in person the week of the race at:

    Thursday, November 9 (4:30pm – 8:00pm)
    Friday, November 10 (12:00pm – 7:00pm)

  2. Have a friend or family member pick up your packet for you the week of the race by presenting a copy of your ID, picture on smartphone or photocopy are both acceptable (location, dates and times listed above).
  3. Race Day Packet Pick-Up.
    For $10.00 per race packet, you can pick up your packet at the race site on race day before the event. You can sign up for this service during the registration process.

*Please note only those who register for Race Day Packet Pick-Up will be able to pick up their packet on race day.

Race Capacity

Entry into the Rocky Run will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Registration will close once the race capacity is reached.

Course Time Limit

Participants must maintain a 15:00 minute per mile pace*. Please note your official time does not begin until you cross the start line.

*If participating in the Italian Stallion Challenge, you must maintain at least a 13:00 minute per mile pace in the 5K to ensure you are lined up in time for the 10 Mile start.

Start Wave Placement

Participants will be assigned to an appropriate corral based on the projected finishing time submitted on their entry form.

Timing & Results

The Rocky Run will feature the B-Tag ChronoTrack timing system. All participants will receive a B-Tag timing device with their bib number.

Awards will be presented to the following categories:

  • Top three overall male and female 10 Mile, 5K and Italian Stallion Challenge finishers*
  • Best Rocky inspired costume
  • Best Rocky inspired team costume

Virtual Rocky Run

We have a virtual option for those who can’t make it to Philadelphia, but still want to go the distance! Complete the Rocky Run on your own time and receive the same amazing swag.

Virtual Rocky Run participants are encouraged to run on Saturday, November 11 and share photos of your virtual race experience on social media using #virtualrockyrun #rockyrun.

Virtual Rocky Run details:

  • Shirt and medal(s) will be mailed to the address listed on your registration form by November 2
  • On the Wednesday prior to the race, you will receive a race bib via email
  • Virtual participants do not have to track or submit their times, registering is your pledge to complete the Virtual Rocky Run
  • Virtual registration may be purchased until October 26 (unless sold out)
  • Virtual participants cannot run the official Rocky Run course in Philadelphia
  • Virtual Rocky Run entry fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable

DRIVING

From the East: From the New Jersey Turnpike, take Exit 4. Follow Route 73 North and then Route 38 West to Route 30 West. Follow the signs to the Benjamin Franklin Bridge. After crossing the bridge, follow signs for I-676 West. Take I-676 West to I-76 East. Follow I-76 East to Exit 345 for 30th Street Station. Stay left going around 30th Street Station. Turn left onto Market Street. Head east on Market Street to the public parking garages between 21st and 18th Streets.

From the North: Follow I-95 South to Interstate 676 West. Take I-676 West to I-76 East. Follow I-76 East to Exit 345 for 30th Street Station. Stay left going around 30th Street Station and turn left at the light onto Market Street. Head east on Market Street to the public parking garages between 21st and 18th Streets.

From the West: From the Pennsylvania Turnpike, take Exit 326 toward Valley Forge/Central Philadelphia onto I-76 East. Continue on I-76 East to Exit 345 for 30th Street Station. Stay left going around 30th Street Station and turn left at the light onto Market Street. Head east on Market Street to the public parking garages between 21st and 18th Streets.

From the South: Take I-95 North to I-676 West. Follow I-676 West to I-76 East. Follow I-76 East to Exit 345 toward 30th Street Station. Stay left going around 30th Street Station and turn left at the light onto Market Street. Head east on Market Street to the public parking garages between 21st and 18th Streets.


PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

SEPTA: There are two SEPTA subway lines that will bring you within a mile of the start and finish.

  • The Market/Frankford (Blue) Line runs east and west. Take this line to the 15th Street/City Hall stop.
  • The Broad Street (Orange) Line runs north and south. Take this line to the Race-Vine/Convention Center stop or the City Hall stop.

The Rocky Run will take place rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather or other conditions that may affect the safety and health of participants, race officials reserve the right to delay, postpone or cancel the race. All registrations are nonrefundable and nontransferrable.
